Skunk Odor

Tomato juice is out!  Here is an effective skunk deodorizer.

1 quart of 3% hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup of baking soda
1 teaspoon of liquid soap.
Mix & immediately apply to pet, person or affected area.
Rinse thoroughly with tap water.

The oxygen produced by the chemical reaction (don't try to bottle this - the container will explode) grabs the molecules that smell so bad and neutralizes them.
 

It’s shocking!

To prevent static electricity in your carpet, add 1/4 cup of liquid fabric softener to a gallon of cold water (or 1 tablespoon to a quart).  Apply this mixture to your carpeting with an atomizer-type sprayer until small droplets are visible on the carpet.  Let carpet dry before walking on it. Repeat this treatment every few months to eliminate the shocks that can be so annoying, and that can wreak havoc with your computer.

Windows

Who likes to wash windows?  It's not such a bad job when once  you learn how and can do it fast and leave the windows crystal clear.

The secret is in a GOOD solid brass squeegee with streak-free rubber blades.  (We sell these in six sizes from 6" to 18".)

You scrub the window surface with a cleanser (I use just white vinegar and water).  Then a little squeegee practice.  Glide it across the surface, angling the blade slightly so theat the liquid flows downward.  After each stroke wipe the blade with a clean, lint-free cloth.  Wipe the edges with a cloth and go to the next one quick.

Wood Floors

In many households across the country, homeowners are removing old, worn carpeting to expose a foundation floor of durable hardwood. There is a growing trend to rejuvenate these floors highlighting the beauty and integrity of the natural wood. To accomplish this, two different types of wood floor wax can be used.

Traditional paste waxes are designed to give wood floors a smooth, polished appearance and promote the beauty of natural wood grain. The Trewax Clear Paste Wax is an excellent choice for this job. It is easy to apply with a soft cloth or 000 steel wool pad. A 1 Ib. can covers about 1,000 square feet. For worn wood floors, you may choose to utilize the Indian Sand Paste Wax. A brownish color paste wax, Indian Sand helps to blend the worn area with the finished area. Both paste waxes are buffable to a non-slip gloss. Maintain the floors by dust mopping and using Wood Cleaner to pick up dirt embedded in the wax. This product is very effective in removing old wax buildup.

For those homeowners not able to take the time to work with paste waxes, Trewax developed a liquid carnauba (Clean & Wax) and a no buff acrylic (One Step) floor care product. These "new" applications allow the consumer to achieve a paste wax shine with less labor. Both products can be applied with a wax applicator and dry to a clear shine. Clean & Wax provides a buffable surface while One Step requires no buffing. They are easy to clean and dust. Wood Cleaner is recommended as a routine maintenance program. With the growth in purchases of factory built hardwood flooring, comes a need to offer easy-to-use maintenance products.
